Roofing FAQ

What homeowners usually ask.

Answers to common questions about storm damage, hail damage, roof inspections, repair versus replacement and the restoration process.

01

Is the roof inspection really free?

Yes. CRG provides free roof inspections for Queensland property owners who want clear advice about possible storm, hail or roofing damage. There is no obligation to proceed with works after the inspection.

02

How do I know if my roof has hail damage?

Hail damage is not always obvious from the ground. Signs can include dents in metal roofing, chipped or cracked tiles, damaged ridge capping, gutter dents, leaks, ceiling stains, mould, rust forming around fixings or water entering after heavy rain.

03

Can a roof be damaged even if I cannot see leaks?

Yes. Some roof damage does not cause immediate water entry. Hail or storm impacts can weaken coatings, move roof components or create small failure points that become more serious over time.

04

Do you repair roofs or replace them?

It depends on the condition of the roof and the type of damage. Minor isolated issues may only need repair. Widespread hail or storm damage across the roof may require replacement, especially if the roof is aged, corroded or already in poor condition.

05

What happens after the inspection?

After inspecting the roof, CRG explains what was found and what the practical next steps are. This may include no action, minor maintenance, further documentation or a restoration pathway if the damage is significant.

06

Can you help with insurance documentation?

Yes. CRG can provide photos, inspection notes, scope information and supporting documentation. Our partner company, Claims Approved, can also help guide clients through the process from start to finish.

07

Do you work across all of Australia?

No. CRG is Queensland based and currently services Queensland properties.

08

Do you install Colorbond roofing?

Yes. CRG works with premium steel roofing products including Colorbond® steel, selected for durability, performance and long-term value in Queensland conditions.

09

How long does a roof replacement take?

Timing depends on the size of the roof, access, weather, material availability and project complexity. Many residential roof replacements can be completed efficiently once approvals, materials and scheduling are in place.

10

Will someone explain the process clearly?

Yes. CRG aims to keep the process simple and organised. You will be given clear communication around inspections, documentation, scheduling and the restoration process.
